The "Audio Only" Option

This handy feature allows extraction of DVD audio streams to audio-only files in many formats. (See table below) The audio files are created using special profiles with DVDFab's Mobile option. Any input Source that would normally be used in DVD to Mobile can be used as an input for this function.

                        Available Ouput Formats

               Audio format................Mobile Profile
                   MP3 Generic,iPod
                   AC-3,DTS,etc. Generic(audiocopy)
                   WAV Generic
                   M4A iPod
                   WMA Zune

To use this feature,

first select the type of audio file you want from the left column above, then determine the location of the profile you will need in the right column.

Open DVDFab and select DVD to Mobile and then click on the device that contains the profile. Select the title and audio stream you want, then click Next, then click on the Conversion Settings button.

If the device that you will need is not currently listed in the DVD to Mobile navigation pane,(e.g., if you want a WMA file but don't have the Zune profile installed in the UI) you will need to add it using CustomizeUI-DVD to Mobile in Common Settings. An example of adding a device can be found on the DVD to Mobile page in this tutorial, here.

See the screen capture below. After selecting the profile, click the "Audio Only" button in the Output Type area.

If more than one audio type is available in the device you opened (as in Generic), use the profile drop down selector (the right hand one) to select the audio type you would like. If applicable, select the split, audio bitrate desired, and enter filenames. Your output audio files will be produced in the Target location chosen earlier.

Tip:

Note that this mode allows you to split the audio files by the chapter marls on the original DVD, a great feature for converting concert or music DVDs to individual files.
